Educational Services provides individualized learning programs and academic tutoring support to students on the Monterey Peninsula and vicinity. Educational Services is a center of learning owned and operated by Colette Nelson-Dinn, a well-known local educator dedicated to teaching and mentoring students of all ages since 1996.
Once part of The Reading Game and then Britannica Learning Centers, Educational Services is an independent learning center acquired by Colette Nelson-Dinn in August 1999. Mrs. Nelson-Dinn is an entrepreneur and dynamic teacher who has over 20 years experience working in private education. Before coming to the Monterey Peninsula in 1996, Colette spent many years working in Silicon Valley, CA, as a teacher and lead teacher for Sylvan Learning Centers and manager for The Tutoring Club. She was also a teacher for the YMCA in Cupertino, CA. In 1996, Colette was hired as a private contractor by Phyllis Stebbins, former owner of Educational Services and highly respected teacher in the local community.
Colette has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento. She received her teaching credentials from San Jose State University and holds a current Multiple Subject California Clear Credential. Colette has also taken refresher courses in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus and Spanish at Monterey Peninsula College to satisfy professional growth requirements and keep her skills current.
In addition to running Educational Services, Colette enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Greg Dinn, and their amazing basenji-shepherd dog, "Slick". Colette and Greg have a great love of music, and are both musicians for the worship team at their local church. Colette is the drummer, and Greg plays guitar and bass.
